CBOE's Record Year For Volume Continues In September

Trading volume at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), the world's largest options exchange, continued to surpass record levels established last year as 24,499,014 options contracts (15,483,740 calls and 9,015,274 puts) traded in September, an 11% increase over the year ago September volume of 22,117,972 contracts. On 1 October 2000, the Copenhagen Stock Exchange began outsourcing the IT operation of its market information systems to eHuset. The Facility Management co-operation, which is divided into three stages, means that within one year eHuset will establish an operation support scheme covering preventive and proactive surveillance, systems support and IT preparedness.

Eurex, the international derivatives market, posted its third-highest volume on a monthly basis in September with 41.9 million contracts traded. This is an increase of 17 percent over the number traded in September 1999. Some 344 million contracts have already been traded during the first three quarters of the current year, about one-fourth more than the total for the same period of last year.
