Euronext Amsterdam Publishes Modified Policy For Listed Equity Options And Futures When The Underlying Shares Are No Longer Traded At Euronext Amsterdam

An evaluation was recently made of the policy on listed equity options and futures when the underlying shares are no longer listed or traded at Euronext Amsterdam. On the basis of this evaluation, Euronext Amsterdam has decided to make a number of changes to the policy.
Electronic Trading In The Swedish Fixed Income Market

On 15 May, interbank trading in the Swedish fixed income market, which today is primarily telephone-based, will become an electronic market. The change is as a result of the co-operation between interbank market participants, the Swedish National Debt Office and the OM Fixed Income Exchange. Trading will be conducted through SAXESS, OM's electronic trading system. The SAXESS platform already handles the information system for telephone-based trading (PMI Prices) and Swedish National Debt

April proved to be another extremely busy month for bond trading at Euronext Amsterdam's stock market, with the number of bonds traded soaring by 47.7% compared to the same month last year. Trading in shares dropped 12.4% compared to April 2000, while total turnover on the stock market in the first four months of the year rose to ? 722.4 billion, up 5.3% on the corresponding period last year.

Euronext Amsterdam N.V., created by the merger between the exchanges of Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris disposes its 25% interest in Tijd Beursmedia B.V. The stake was originally acquired by Amsterdam Exchanges, the former exchange organisation in Amsterdam, in connection with its publishing activities.

CME Posts Record Open Interest On Second Busiest Trading Day

Open interest on Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) posted a record of 11,904,211 on May 4, surpassing the previous record of 11,859,810, set on March 15. It was the second busiest trading day in CME’s history, with 2,258,956 contracts changing hands. The volume record of 2,834,016 contracts was set on April 18.

A total volume of CHF86,909 million was traded on SWX in April, 32.51 percent less than the month before. The total comprises CHF 68,523 million in equities (including funds), CHF13,019 million in bonds, CHF 2,887 in derivatives, CHF 1,134 in USD denominated Eurobonds, CHF 1,327 in EUR denominated Eurobonds and CHF 20 in GBP denominated Eurobonds.
