Dow Jones Indexes And STOXX To Improve Sector Classification System. Finer Breakout of Existing Industry and Sub-Groups to Meet Investors Needs

Dow Jones Indexes today announced improvements in the sector classification system of the Dow Jones Global Index family, which includes the pan-European STOXX indexes. The changes will be effective at the opening of trading on December 24, 2001.

Deutsche Börse successfully launched trading in Dutch equities in the Xetra Dutch Stars segment on Monday. As already reported, the Xetra Dutch Stars segment comprises all seven Dutch equities in the Dow Jones Euro STOXX 50 index: ABN Amro Holding NV, AEGEON NV, Ahold NV, ING Groep NV, Philips Electronics NV, Royal Dutch Petroleum NV and Unilever NV.

Domestic turnover in October was EUR 51,673.3 million, foreign turnover EUR 3,546.6 million, Nuovo Mercato, Domestic, EUR 2,718.6 million, Nuovo Mercato, Foreign, EUR 18.9 million and on the Ristretto market EUR 20.6 million.
155 Mio. Euros Turnover At NEWEX In October

At NEWEX (New Europe Exchange), the exchange for Central and East European securities, volume of 155.7 million euros was traded in October, about 34.6 percent lower than the previous month´s level (September: 238.1 million euros). Volume of 73.2 million euros or 47 percent of the total, was traded in the NX.plus quality segment. The most active single issue was the common share of the Russian oil producer LUKOIL, with over a million shares traded, corresponding to 44.6 million euros in value.
