CME, Standard & Poor's Mark 20th Anniversary Of S&P 500 Futures Trading, Sign Agreement For Futures Contracts On S&P Sector, Industry Indices

Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) and Standard & Poor's today marked the 20th anniversary of S&P 500 futures trading with a ceremonial bell-ringing and the announcement of a new agreement permitting futures trading on subsets of the S&P 500 Stock Price Index which includes 10 sector and 59 industry group indices.

The Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) wishes to announce that the offices of the KLSE Group will be closed on Thursday, 25 April 2002 in conjunction with the installation of Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Ibni Al-Marhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail. The offices of the KLSE Group will resume operations on Friday, 26 April 2002.

Instinet Announces First Quarter 2002 Results

Instinet Group Incorporated (Nasdaq: INET) yesterday announced a net loss of $34.7 million, or $0.14 per share, for the first quarter ended March 31, 2002, compared to a net profit of $50.1 million, or $0.24 per share, for the first quarter of 2001. Excluding net investment results, restructuring costs and goodwill impairment, the operating loss in the first quarter was $3.4 million, or $0.01 per share, in line with expectations.
