  • Philadelphia Stock Exchange Seat Owners Vote To Demutualize

    The Philadelphia Stock Exchange, Inc. (PHLX), which has been pursuing a plan of demutualization - under which it will convert from a membership-owned institution to a shareholder-owned corporation - announced today that equitable titleholders, or seat owners, voted yesterday to approve the plan 330 to 59, a margin of 85% to 15%, with 80% of the seats voted.

  • NYSE Announces Membership Vote Results On Governance Proposals And Slate of Directors

    Certified results from yesterday's membership vote indicate that of 1,136 valid proxies and ballots received, 1,112 votes-almost 98%-were cast in favor of amendments to the NYSE Constitution. There were seven votes-less than 1%-cast against and 17 abstentions.

    The Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX) announced today that the MGEX board of directors has approved rules and regulations for Soft Red Wheat Index (SRI) and Hard Spring Wheat Index (SWI) futures and options. Pending ownership approval, the contracts are scheduled to launch December 19, 2003 on the exchange's electronic trading platform, MGEXpress®.

    Today marked the commencement of SWX Swiss Exchange trading in 2 new XMTCH ETFs on Swiss Confederation bonds. XMTCHes are registered investment funds established in accordance with Swiss law. The initiator and asset manager of these XMTCHes is Credit Suisse Asset Management. XMTCHes are listed and traded in SWX's Exchange Traded Funds segment, which currently comprises 18 ETF issues.

    Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) today announced that trading of electronic foreign exchange (eFX) products on CME's GLOBEX® electronic trading platform totaled nearly 113,000 contracts on Tuesday. It was the first time eFX volume exceeded 100,000 contracts in a single day.

  • Chicago Mercantile Exchange Holdings Inc. Completes Secondary Offering

    Chicago Mercantile Exchange Holdings Inc. (NYSE: CME) today announced the successful completion of the offering of 2,366,069 shares of Class A common stock by certain of its shareholders, including the over-allotment option. The company did not sell any shares or receive any proceeds from the sale of stock by its shareholders in the offering. The offering was priced on Nov. 13 at $67.00 per share and closed on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
