    A total of 231 out of 468 listed companies on The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and Market for Alternative Investment (mai) have announced dividend payments for the year 2004. These companies have an average 4.09% dividend yield, or 1.62% higher that last year. Their total dividends were worth THB149.768 bln. (approx. USD3.744 bln.), or 42% of their total net profits of THB464.317 bln. (approx. USD11.61 bln.). The Resources Industry Group will be paying out the largest amount, totaling THB35.

  • Standard & Poor’s Announces Changes to U.S. Indices

    Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes to the S&P 500 and S&P 100 indices after the close of trading on Thursday, March 24: S&P 500 constituent Sears, Roebuck & Co. (NYSE:S) is merging with Kmart Holding Corp. (NASD:KMRT) in a deal subject to shareholder approval. The surviving company, Sears Holdings Corp. (NASD:SHLD), will replace Sears Roebuck in the S&P 500. Comcast Corp. (NASD:CMCSA) will replace Sears, Roebuck in the S&P 100.

    Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Monday, March 21, 2005: Rentcash Inc. (TSXVN:RCS) will be removed from the index. The company is going to graduate to trade on the TSX on Tuesday, March 22, 2005 under the ticker “RCS.” BDI Mining Corp.
