SEC Proposes Amendments To EDGAR System Rules Regarding Mandatory Identification Of Investment Company Series And Classes - Additions To Mandatory Electronic Filings - And Technical Revisions

On March 16, the Commission issued a release proposing to expand the information that it requires certain investment company filers to submit electronically through the Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval (EDGAR) system and to make certain technical changes to that system.

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced today a settled fraud enforcement action against CMS Energy Corporation (CMS), a Michigan-based energy company, in connection with over $5 billion in deceptive round-trip energy trades - massive pre-arranged trades that, despite lacking economic substance, grossly inflated CMS's reported revenues and propelled the company into the upper echelon of the energy-trading volume rankings.

Newsome today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) regarding the oversight of security futures product (SFP) trading and the sharing of security futures product information.

Sydney Futures Exchange experienced the largest transaction volumes on record yesterday for the SFE SPI 200™ Futures contract. The total volume for the day was 132,976, up 6.2% compared to the previous record of 125,206 set on December 16, 2003.
