CME Announces FX Pricing Initiatives Designed To Attract New Customers And Capture More Business

With continued strong growth of electronic trading in its foreign exchange (FX) products, Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME), the largest regulated foreign exchange trading marketplace in the world, today announced a series of pricing initiatives designed to attract new FX customer segments and further increase trading volumes. CME is the largest U.S. futures exchange and also has the largest derivatives clearing house in the world.

Amy S. Butte Named Chief Financial Officer, NYSE

The New York Stock Exchange today announced that Amy S. Butte, executive vice president, Corporate Finance, has assumed the role of chief financial officer, effective immediately. Ms. Butte, who reports to NYSE CEO John A. Thain, joined the Exchange on Feb. 19. She succeeds Keith R. Helsby.

Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Thursday, April 8, 2004: Jones Soda Co. (TSXVN:JSD) will be removed from the index. The company no longer adheres to inclusion criteria #1 of the S&P/TSX Venture Composite rules. Tm Bioscience Corporation (TSXVN:TMC) will be removed from the index. The company will graduate to trade on the TSX under the ticker symbol "TMC" at the open on April 12, 2004.

Turnover for March was EUR 78,028.3 million. This compares to EUR 57,492.1 million in February. Domestic turnover in March was EUR 68,148.8 million, foreign turnover 8,103.2 million, Nuovo Mercato, Domestic, 1,709.4 million, Nuovo Mercato, Foreign, 32.3 million and on the Mercarto Expandi market EUR 34.6 million.

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced the final settlement of an enforcement action against Putnam Investment Management LLC (Putnam), pursuant to which the Commission ordered Putnam to pay a $50 million civil penalty and $5 million in disgorgement for violating federal securities laws by failing to disclose improper market timing trading by Putnam portfolio managers. All of the money obtained by the Commission will be distributed to investors harmed by the market timing trading
