For the week of August 9th – August 13th, 2004, total trading volume on FORTS (Futures & Options on the RTS) increased by 8% in rubles and 9% in contracts and reached 4 027 million rubles and 573 thousand contracts. Total open interest as of August 13th, 2004, increased by 4% in rubles and 4% in contracts and qualled 6 505 million rubles and 869 thousand contracts.

Alstom (ADR) Exclusion From The S&P ADR Index

Standard & Poor’s will make changes in the S&P ADR Indices effective the close of trading on Wednesday, August 18, 2004: Alstom (ADR) (France, NYSE: ALS, CUSIP: 021244108, Sedol: 2249384) will be excluded from the S&P ADR Index. The New York Stock Exchange will suspend quotation in the shares before the market open on Thursday, August 19, 2004.
