Deutsche Boerse Group: Total Turnover Of €245 Billion On German Stock Exchanges In September

According to aggregate statistics, a total volume of over €245 billion was traded on the German stock exchanges in September. This represents an 8 percent rise in turnovers on the previous month (€226 billion). This total includes €182 billion in equities, warrants, and exchange-traded funds, and more than €63 billion in fixed-income securities.

Copenhagen Stock Exchange: Record Year On The Equity Market On The Cards

Share trading in the first nine months of the year totalled DKK 432 billion, which means that 2004 has already reached the second highest trading volume on an annual basis in the history of the Exchange. Some time during the next month the trading in shares will also top the record from the year 2000 when the turnover reached DKK 455 billion.

Chicago Mercantile Exchange Holdings Inc. (NYSE: CME), the largest U.S. futures exchange, today reported that its total volume for the third quarter averaged more than 3.2 million contracts per day, up 29% from the same period one year ago. Total CME volume was above 206 million contracts for the quarter. The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) announced today the approval of six firms to act as Electronic Market Makers (EMM) for CBOT full-sized Gold and Silver futures contracts. The objective of the EMM program is to provide liquidity in the exchange's new 100 percent electronic metals contracts, effective on the October 6, 2004, launch date.
