BOVESPA's foreign investment net inflow amounted to US$ 305.71 million in November, resulting from purchases of US$ 2.648 billion and sales of US$ 2.342 billion. Thus, BOVESPA's year -to-date balance on foreign capital totaled US$ 292.12 million, as of November 30.

Open interest in WCE futures contracts posted a 64% increase at the end of November 2004 from the level recorded a year ago to 87,631 contracts. This also represents an increase of 15.3% from October 2004.

Winnipeg Commodity Exchange: Canola Futures Prices Trend Lower

Canola futures prices at the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange continued to trend lower during the month of November. The January contract closed the month at $280.70 per metric tonne, off $19.10 during the month. This was also the lowest closing price for the nearby contract in over three years, going back to the spring of 2001. Trading volumes on the international derivatives market Eurex and its U.S. subsidiary Eurex US continued to surge in November. Trading volume on Eurex, the world’s largest derivatives exchange, increased 24 percent year-on-year to reach 92 million contracts.
