On 18 May, the Board of Directors of Sociedad de Bolsas appointed during its General Meeting, Ángel Torre González – Chairman of Bolsa de Valencia – new Chairman of Sociedad de Bolsas, thus replacing José Luis Damborenea, of Bolsa de Bilbao.

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has stepped up its ground-breaking study to measure the real costs of financial regulation with the appointment of Deloitte to carry out research among regulated firms. The study is being conducted in partnership with the independent Financial Services Practitioner Panel.

UK’s Financial Services Authority Creates New Accounting And Auditing Sector Team

The FSA has created a new accounting and auditing sector team to co-ordinate work across the FSA that involves accountancy issues. The new sector team will be led by Kari Hale, Director of Finance, Strategy and Risk, and formerly sector leader for banking. Thomas Huertas, Director of Wholesale Firms, will take over leadership of the banking sector.
