The Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX) will join with the New York Stock Exchange in observing a moment of silence on Friday, April 8 from 9:29-9:30 a.m., the day of the funeral service for the Pope John Paul II. Trading will commence at the regular time of 9:30 a.m.

In the first quarter of 2005 total trading volume on the JSC "RTS Stock Exchange" reached 7 408 million rubles. Daily trading volume increased by 385% and reached 132 million rubles, compared with 27,2 in the previous quarter. The second-tier stock turnover equaled 1 815 million rubles, 24% of the total trading volume.
