Euronext: Update On Proposals For A Combination Transaction

On Friday 19 May, Deutsche Boerse A.G. (“DB”) published certain aspects of a proposed combination between DB and Euronext. During the weekend, Euronext received further details of DB’s proposal. In particular, DB clarified that the basis of the exchange ratio for a combination of the two groups would be the volume weighted three months’ average market value, as at the time of entering into a formal agreement with DB.

Deutsche Börse on Monday rejected a report in the Financial Times, the company would be considering an all share offer that would value each Euronext share at about 90 euros. Deutsche Börse already made a clear in a statement on Friday that it plans a merger of partners with Euronext.

Bursa Malaysia: Replacement Of Johor Port Berhad In The KLCI

The Executive Committee (EXCO) of Bursa Malaysia Berhad (“Bursa Malaysia”) has decided to replace Johor Port Berhad with Transmile Group Berhad as a component stock of the Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI). This move is taken as a result of the delisting of Johor Port Berhad pursuant to paragraph 8.15 (5) of the Listing Requirement. The Mandatory General Offer on Johor Port Bhd was closed on 19 May 2006.
