Cairo & Alexandria Stock Exchanges (CASE) Signs An Agreement With Dow Jones Indexes To Create A Blue-Chip Index To Cover the Egyptian Market

The Cairo & Alexandria Stock Exchanges signed a joint branding and marketing agreement with Dow Jones Indexes, a leading global index provider, on 3 January 2006 to create the Dow Jones CASE Egypt Titans Index, a blue-chip index that covers the largest and most liquid companies in Egypt. The index is scheduled to be launched in the first quarter 2006.

The Spanish Exchange on December 30 began trading 130 new warrants issued by BBVA Banco de Financiación. The underlying assets for the warrants are domestic and foreign shares and indices as well as exchange rates.
Thai Government Bonds Worth Over THB1.7 Trillion To List On The Bond Electronic Exchange Starting Jan. 5, 2006

Thailand’s Bond Electronic Exchange (BEX) approved the listings of 467 government bond issues collectively worth THB1.7 trillion on the bourse. These bonds have been issued by Thailand’s Ministry of Finance, state agencies, as well as state-owned enterprises. Their listings will boost the total outstanding value of listed bonds to THB2.2 trillion (approx. USD53.66 billion), a 222% increase over the end of 2005.

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P Europe 350, S&P Euro Plus, S&P Euro and S&P Global 100 indices, effective after the close of trading on Thursday 05 December 2006: Alcatel SA (France, SEDOL: 5975066, GICS: Information Technology), a member of the S&P Europe 350, S&P Euro Plus, S&P Euro and S&P Global 100 indices, shares will increase to 1,428,142,182. This is due to conversion of all outstanding mandatory redeemable notes to new Alcatel ordinary shares
SEC Charges Six Former Officers Of Putnam Fiduciary Trust Company With Defrauding Clients Of $4 Million

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced today that it filed charges against six former officers of Putnam Fiduciary Trust Company (PFTC), a Boston-based registered transfer agent, for engaging in a scheme beginning in January 2001 by which the defendants defrauded a defined contribution plan client and group of Putnam mutual funds of approximately $4 million. The six defendants are Karnig Durgarian, a former senior managing director and chief of operations for PFT
