Deutsche Börse: Equities Turnover Climb 116 Percent To New Record High - €565 Euro Turnover On German Exchanges In May - 11.6 Million Xetra Trades Represents Additional Record High

In May 2006 trading volume on all German stock exchanges rose 116 percent to €565.1 billion (May 2005: €267 billion). This represents a new record (March 2006: €470 billion previous high).

Deutsche Börse Signs MOU With CFETS - Basis For Cooperation With Leading Foreign Exchange And Inter-Bank Bond Trading Institution In China - Significant Step In Expanding Deutsche Börse Activities In Asia

Deutsche Börse recently signed a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ with the China Foreign Exchange Trade System & National Interbank Funding Center (CFETS) to enhance cooperation between both parties concerning financial market development in China. Under the MOU, Deutsche Börse Group and CFETS have agreed to provide a framework to develop cooperation between both parties and for Deutsche Börse to contribute to the development of sophisticated interbank and foreign exchange markets in China.

Daily Trade On WCE Hits Record Level

Trade on Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Inc. ("WCE") on May 31, 2006 escalated to an all-time high with a total daily volume of 50,520 futures and options contracts. The previous total daily volume record was set on March 31, 2006 when 44,503 futures and options contracts were traded.

CME Reports May 2006 Volume Averaged A Record 5.4 Million Contracts Per Day, Up 34 Percent From Year-Ago Period

CME, the world's largest and most diverse financial exchange, today announced May volume averaged a record 5.4 million contracts per day, up 34 percent from May 2005. Total monthly volume in May 2006 was 119 million contracts. Average daily volume on the CME Globex(R) electronic trading platform increased 35 percent from May 2005 to a record 4.0 million contracts per day, representing 74 percent of total exchange volume. CBOT® Sets All-Time Records For Average Daily Volume And Total Monthly Volume - Electronic Trading Of Financial Options Reaches Monthly Volume Record

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), one of the world’s leading derivatives exchanges, today announced that average daily volume (ADV) reached a record 3,628,552 contracts in May, an increase of 18 percent compared with May 2005. Total volume for the month also set a CBOT record, as 79,828,143 contracts changed hands. The previous record, 70,495,317 contracts, was set in March 2006.

CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE) Shatters Trading Records In May - New Highs Reached In Monthly And Single Day Volume, Open Interest Hits New Peak Of 38,000 Contracts

The CBOE Futures Exchange, LLC (CFE) announced today that May was the busiest month in CFE history as exchange volume totaled 56,295 contracts traded. May's volume shattered the one year old record of 27,692 contracts set in May 2005, and was an increase of 219% over April 2006's volume of 17,641 contracts. The busiest single day in CFE's two-year history also occurred during May when 9,402 contracts traded on Wednesday, May 3.

Bank Of China Makes Fast Track Entry To FTSE Xinhua Index Series

FTSE Xinhua Index (FXI), the joint venture index company set up by global index provider FTSE Group, and China market specialist Xinhua Finance announces that following today’s listing of the Bank of China (BoC) on the Hong Kong Exchange, the company becomes eligible for inclusion within the FTSE Xinhua Index Series.
