NYMEX To Waive NYMEX ACCESS® Surcharge, Amend Electronic Trading Holiday Schedule

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. announced today that it will eliminate the NYMEX ACCESS surcharge for products that are migrating to CME Globex® beginning on August 6 for trade date August 7. NYMEX will also adopt the CME Globex holiday schedule for all NYMEX contracts traded on CME Globex.

NYMEX to Migrate Platinum, Palladium and Propane Futures Contracrs To CME Globex®

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. announced today that it would migrate the after–hours trading of platinum, palladium, and propane futures contracts from NYMEX ACCESS® to CME Globex on August 6. These contracts will also be available for side–by–side trading on CME Globex during regular floor trading hours beginning on September 4 for trade date September 5.

The National Mercantile Exchange (NAMEX), which is part of the MICEX Group, has won the open tender, organized by Russia’s Ministry for Agriculture to select exchanges to conduct state purchase and commodity interventions with the aim of regulating the market of farm products, raw materials and food in 2006-2007.

The SWX and virt-x recorded a combined total turnover of 128 billion francs in July 2006. This corresponds to a month-on-month decline of 19 %.
