The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®), one of the world’s leading derivatives exchanges, today announced that volume during the third quarter of 2006 was 199,266,877 contracts, an increase of 21 percent over the third quarter of 2005. New AIM Rules Set To Tighten Nominated Adviser Practices

The London Stock Exchange's consultation document published today to revise and expand the Nominated Adviser Eligibility Criteria and provide AIM with a standardised set of Nominated Adviser (Nomad) rules will help tighten market practices at the edges and allow the market to effectively discipline Nomads where needed, according to Grant Thornton Corporate Finance.

CBOT Successfully Launches Dow Jones-AIG Commodity Index Futures Contracts

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) today announced the successful launch of its new futures contract based on the Dow Jones-AIG Commodity Index (DJ-AIGCISM). The new Dow Jones-AIG Commodity Index Excess Return (DJ-AIG ER) futures contract was developed at the request of market participants who sought an exchange-traded instrument that provides diverse, global commodities exposure.

International Securities Exchange Reports Monthly Volume For September 2006

The International Securities Exchange (NYSE:ISE) today reported that average daily trading volume for equity and index options contracts for September 2006 increased 25.3% to 2.4 million contracts as compared to 1.9 million contracts during the same period in 2005. Total equity and index options volume for the month increased 19.3% to 47.3 million contracts from 39.6 million contracts in the same year-ago period.

OMX Nordic Exchange: Share Trading Exceeded Full Year 2005 Value Already In September

The strong growth of OMX Nordic Exchange continued in September. In September, the year to date total share trading value at the Nordic Exchange exceeded the value for the full year 2005. Trading increased with 40% for the first nine months, compared to the same period last year. The average trading value for 2006 is EUR 4.0 billion per day.

The proposals include the codification of the role and responsibilities of Nominated Advisers (Nomads) in a new publication “The AIM Rules for Nominated Advisers”, and the introduction of supplemental disclosure requirements for AIM companies.
