Statement By Bursa Malaysia On The Proposed Asian Trading Board

The proposal to set up an ASEAN trading board is at a conceptual stage at the moment and it is too premature for the exchange to comment further. However, we welcome this direction as it bodes well with Bursa Malaysia's plans to encourage cross-trading among the regional exchanges. We are optimistic that this move will encourage more foreign investors to value the attractive opportunities offered by ASEAN exchanges.

Clearstream Successfully Launches Euro Night-Time Funding Link Service

Clearstream has successfully launched, its Euro Night-Time Funding Link (ENTFL) service to TARGET2. This service will allow customers to access their liquidity held in TARGET2 Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) accounts and make it available for the settlement of transactions in euro during Clearstream’s night-time processing.

The international derivatives exchange Eurex will further extend its product offering by introducing new equity options on Austrian and Swiss underlyings. Moreover, the exchange will launch more than 100 new single stock futures in December 2007 and January 2008.
AXE Falls On ASX Objections To Competition

AXE ECN will launch a new electronic order book and matching engine to trade ASX listed securities. AXE has developed a full continuous auction model to complement its new crossings platform, due to start trading in early 2008. Full trading is expected to commence in the September quarter 2008. This move will introduce competition in trading services leading to increased market liquidity and a new focus on price, technology and innovation in market services.
