EDX London's Russian Derivatives Service Enjoys Record Month

EDX London’s Russian IOB Derivatives service enjoyed a record month during May 2008 with more than 1.3 million contracts traded. This was the first time that trading volumes have exceeded 1 million contracts in a single month, exceeding the previous monthly record by 41 per cent. Trading volumes during May were 62 per cent higher than for April, more than double the month-on-month growth rate of 30 per cent for the first four months of the year.

In May 2008, the volume of trading in all derivative instruments was 0.67 million instruments. The volume of trading year to date was 5.3 million instruments, equal to 54% of the 2007 annual volume.

Clearstream’s Activity Figures For May 2008: Continued Growth In The International Bond Business

Clearstream: In May 2008, the value of assets under custody on behalf of customers rose to € 10.8 trillion, a 2 percent rise from May 2007 (€ 10.6 trillion). Securities held under custody in Clearstream’s international business experienced a rise of 6 percent from €4.7 to € 5.0 trillion and domestic German securities held under custody decreased by 2 percent from € 5.9 trillion to € 5.8 trillion.

SWX Publishes 2007 Annual Report Of The Disclosure Office

The tenth annual report of the Disclosure Office of the SWX Swiss Exchange Ltd. reflects the comprehensive changes to the disclosure legislation that the Swiss parliament and the Federal Banking Commission (FBC) adopted in 2007.
