MGEX (Minneapolis Grain Exchange or Exchange) today announced results of its annual Board of Directors (Board) election, held October 2, 2008. Elected candidates include Scott A. Cordes, Country Hedging, Inc.; Scott O. Hedin, St. Croix Commodities, Inc.; Christopher T. Matzdorf, UBS Securities, LLC; and Scott D. Nagel, ADM-Benson Quinn, a division of Archer Daniels Midland. The newly elected Board members will serve two year terms, effective immediately.

Alior Bank S.A. Approved As Warsaw Stock Exchange Member

On 3 November 2008, the WSE Management Board admitted the company Alior Bank S.A. with its seat in Warsaw to operation on the WSE as an Exchange Member. There are now 50 Members operating on the WSE, including 31 members located in Poland.

Jacksonville Resident Stephanie Ann Gallitano And Her Fort Lauderdale-Based Companies Ordered To Pay More Than $5 Million In Restitution And Civil Monetary Penalties In CFTC Forex Anti-Fraud Action

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that Stephanie Ann Gallitano of Jacksonville, Florida, and her Fort Lauderdale-based companies, Financial Risk International, Inc. (FRI) and Financial Risk Management, Inc. (FRM), were ordered to pay restitution of $3.1 million and a civil monetary penalty of $1,943,000 to settle CFTC charges of fraudulently soliciting customers to purchase foreign currency (forex) options. CESR Publishes A Statement On Fair Value Measurement And Related Disclosures Of Financial Instruments In Illiquid Markets

CESR publishes today a Statement entitled “Fair value measurement and related disclosures of financial instruments in illiquid markets” (Ref. CESR/08-713b). This Statement allows CESR, as an organisation composed of securities regulators and enforcers, to stress the importance of appropriate application of measurement and disclosure requirements. This statement follows a consultation which was launched in mid July and closed in mid September. C
