Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange today announced that they are introducing measures granting temporary relief from some of their requirements to assist listed issuers. (DJHFI), today announced that it will temporarily suspend publication of the Dow Jones Hedge Fund Equity Long/Short and Equity Market Neutral Strategy Benchmarks, effective November 3 until further notice. The Dow Jones Hedge Fund Balanced Portfolio Indexes (DJHFBPIs) also will be suspended.

Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today reported that year-to-date volume surpassed one billion contracts for the first time in the Exchange's history as 1.034 billion contracts changed hands through October (average daily volume of 4.9 million contracts). In addition, October was CBOE's most active month ever as 134.2 million contracts were traded versus 89.0 million in October 2007. The international derivatives exchange Eurex traded a total of 226.6 million contracts in October (excluding ISE volume), a year-on-year increase of 55 percent (October 2007: 145.9 million contracts). The strong growth is partly attributable to the increased use of exchange-traded derivatives during the current market crisis. On a year-to-date basis, Eurex volumes rose by 18 percent achieving 1.9 billion contracts (Jan – Oct 2007: 1.6 billion contracts).
