Clearstream Offers Same Day Cash Service In Singapore Dollar - Further Asian Currencies To Follow In 2009

Clearstream, the international central securities depositary (ICSD) part of Deutsche Börse Group, is offering same day cash services for customers using the Singapore Dollar (SGD) meaning that customers managing balances in this currency will benefit from deadlines close to Singapore deadlines.

Astro All Asia Networks Plc Replaces KNM Group Bhd In The FTSE Bursa Malaysia Large 30 Index After December 2008 Half Yearly Review

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia Index Advisory Committee met today for the half-yearly index review and announced that Astro All Asia Network PLC will replace KNM Group Bhd in the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Large 30 Index, the index upon which the FBM 30 ETF is based.

Over the week of December 1st – December 5th, 2008, the RTS Index went down by 10,39% to reach 589,79 points (658,14 points as of November 28th, 2008). Most of the negative impact on the Index dynamics was related to the falling prices for Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) (minus 12,91 points), ОАО "LUKOIL" ordinary shares (LKOH) (minus 9,99 points) and Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) (minus 9,95 points).

BESA Board Recommend Shareholders Accept Higher Offer From JSE

The Board of the Bond Exchange of South Africa (BESA) has provided a recommendation to shareholders to accept a Rand 125 per share offer from the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE). The takeover was originally announced on 24 October at an offer of Rand 90 per share.
