Tokyo Stock Exchange To Begin Calculating "Tokyo Stock Exchange Composite Index Series"

The Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. (TSE) has announced today that it will begin calculating and publishing a "Tokyo Stock Exchange Composite Index Series" from February 9, 2009. This series will introduce domestic classified stocks, foreign stocks with exclusive listings on the TSE, and domestic preferred subscription certificates into the index universe. The dislocation in global financial markets and conditions within the domestic economy during 2008, rendered the expansion of BESA’s primary bond market difficult during the year.
