NASDAQ Announces Mid-month Open Short Interest Positions In NASDAQ Stocks As Of Settlement Date March 13, 2009

At the end of the settlement date of March 13, 2009, short interest in 2,521 NASDAQ Global Market(sm) securities totaled 7,246,261,438 shares compared with 6,928,787,193 shares in 2,532 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of February 27, 2009. The mid-March short interest represents 3.07 days average daily NASDAQ Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 3.12 days for the prior reporting period.

Gordon Brown: EU Must Take The Lead In Reforming Global Financial Institutions

Europe must take the lead in finding solutions to the global crisis at next week's G20 summit, British prime minister Gordon Brown told MEPs in a speech in Strasbourg on Tuesday that was warmly welcomed by leaders of the main political groups. The group leaders of the smaller political groups questioned whether the UK's economy was well placed to recover.
