Chi-X Europe Increases Message Capacity By 95 Percent - MTF’s Core Matching Engine Capacity Increased To 225,000 Messages Per Second

Chi-X Europe Limited, operator of the largest pan-European equity multilateral trading facility (MTF), today announced that the capacity of its core matching engine has been increased to handle 225,000 messages per second, with full redundancy. With an average internal latency of 350 microseconds and a co-location latency of 400 microseconds, the response times and capacity of Chi-X Europe’s technology are among the fastest in the industry.

Eurex To Enhance Successful Index Dividend Future Contract - New Maturities And Extended Trading Hours Of DJ EURO STOXX 50 Dividend Index Future

The leading derivatives exchange Eurex today announced that it will enhance the scope of its future based on the Dow Jones EURO STOXX 50® Dividend Index as of 4 May 2009. In response to customer requests, an additional three expiry dates will be listed, taking the total available for trading to ten annual contracts out to the December 2018 expiry. Additionally, the trading hours will be extended from 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm CET, bringing it in-line with other Eurex index derivatives.

Chi-X Europe To Launch “Chi-Delta” Dark Book

Chi-X® Europe Limited, operator of the largest pan-European equity multilateral trading facility (MTF), today announced its intention to launch the “Chi-Delta” (Dark Electronic Liquidity Trading Application) dark liquidity book. Chi-Delta is expected to launch in Q2 2009, subject to standard regulatory approvals.

KRX Launches Two New Global Indices – S&P/KRX Asia 100, S&P/KRX Exchanges

The Korea Exchange (KRX) launched two new global indices jointly with Standard & Poor’s (S&P), i.e., S&P/KRX Asia100 and S&P/KRX Exchanges, from April 1, 2009. The two global indices are designed, developed and owned by S&P, and calculated, maintained and distributed by the KRX.

MGEX Breaks Daily Electronic Volume Record

Electronic trading of Hard Red Spring Wheat (HRSW) futures and options today hit a new daily record high of 10,350 contracts at MGEX (Minneapolis Grain Exchange or Exchange). Today’s volume surpassed by 2,856 contracts the previous electronic volume record of 7,494 contracts set on January 23, 2009.

State Aid: European Commission Approves UK Asset-Backed Securities Guarantee Scheme

The European Commission has approved, under EC Treaty state aid rules, the UK's Asset-Backed Securities Guarantee Scheme, which forms part of UK measures to support the banking industry during the current financial crisis.
