US Federal Open Market Committee Expands March, August, September, And December Meetings In 2009 To Two Days

The Federal Open Market Committee on Friday announced it would expand its March, August, September, and December meetings in 2009 to two days to allow additional time for discussion. Thus, all eight scheduled meetings in 2009 now are planned for two days.

CFTC Approves Limits On The Number Of Agricultural Delivery Instruments That Can Be Held For Non-Commercial Purpose

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced that it has approved a request by the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) to limit the number of delivery instruments an entity can hold for non-commercial purposes. This limit applies to warehouse receipts or shipping certificates for the Exchange’s Corn, Mini-sized Corn, Wheat, Mini-sized Wheat, Oat, Rough Rice, Soybean, Mini-sized Soybean, Soybean Oil and Soybean Meal contracts and limits the number of certificates/receipts anyone c

LCH.Clearnet To Launch Eurozone Clearing Of Credit Default Swaps

LCH.Clearnet plans to launch clearing services for Credit Default Swaps (CDS) in the Eurozone by December 2009, subject to regulatory approval. The service will be managed by Paris-based LCH.Clearnet SA, which is a Eurozone bank and regulated by the Banque de France.
