Tokyo Stock Exchange: Establishment Of The IFRS Council, Private Sector Promotion Council To Address Japanese Roadmap For IFRS Implementation

The Business Accounting Council (BAC), a key advisory body to the Commissioner of the Financial Services Agency (FSA), published the "Interim Report: Application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) in Japan" on June 30, 2009. Japan has now taken a key step forward toward IFRS adoption. To go further, there are some challenges to be overcome as noted in the report; many of which should be actively addressed by the private sector.

Tokyo Grain Exchange: Present Continuous Trading System To Be Discontinued And Products Migrated To The Call Trading System

On June 29, 2009. the Board of Directors (written deliberation) approved to discontinue trading on the present continuous trading system and migrate all the listed products (Non-GMO soybeans, arabica coffee and robusta coffee) to the call trading system.

Japan's Financial Services Agency And China Insurance Regulatory Commission Hold A Dialogue

The Financial Services Agency (FSA) and the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) held today a meeting of dialogues in Tokyo. The CIRC Chairman Wu Dingfu and the FSA Commissioner Takafumi Sato led the ?ialogue, together with other officials from both organizations.

HKEx: Admission Of China Zhongwang Holdings Limited To List Of Designated Securities For Short Selling

The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), announces that with effect from 10 July 2009 (Friday), China Zhongwang Holdings Limited (Stock code: 1333) will be admitted to the list of designated securities eligible for short selling.
