CME Group, the world's largest and most diverse derivatives exchange, today announced plans to offer 3-Year U.S. Treasury Note futures beginning Monday, March 23, 2009. This contract is listed with, and subject to, the rules and regulations of the CBOT.

The Technical Committee of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) has published a consultation report (Report) on possible principles regarding direct electronic access (DEA). These principles address pre-conditions for DEA, information flow and adequate systems and controls.

CESR Members re-elected today Eddy Wymeersch, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Belgian Banking, Finance and Insurance Commission (CBFA) as Chairman of CESR and Carlos Tavares, Chairman of the Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários (CMVM), as Vice-Chair of CESR for a second term beginning 25 February. Mr Wymeersch and Mr Tavares were first elected Chair and Vice-Chair of CESR, on 1 February 2007 respectively.

Financial services companies now pay the highest average premiums for directors and officers (D&O) liability insurance, surpassing rates paid by life sciences and technology firms, according to a forthcoming report from Carpenter Moore, a NASDAQ OMX company. This shift in D&O pricing trends accelerated in the fourth quarter of 2008 as the financial and economic crisis deepened.
