    Over the week of September 14 – September 18, 2009, the RTS Index went up by 4.10% to reach 1,245.56 points (1,196.55 points as of September 11, 2009). Most of the positive impact on the Index dynamics was related to the growing prices for Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) (plus 10.79 points), ordinary shares of OJSC "OC "Rosneft" (ROSN) (plus 10.65 points) and ordinary shares of JSC VTB Bank (plus 4.57 points).

    BlackRock’s Catherine Raw, fund manager in the natural resources team, believes that commodities are set to make further progress as investors become more confident that the majority of the world economic crisis has passed. While mining equities having rallied in 2009 (up 61% in US dollar terms) valuations are still attractive, being around half what they were in May 2008.

    Jasdaq Securities Exchange, Inc. (Jasdaq) today started using a trading system of Osaka Securities Exchange Co., Ltd. (OSE). At the same time, an operating system for equities products of OSE and Jasdaq have been shifted toward a system using the same distant trading continuity system as derivatives products of OSE.
