The Singapore Exchange Derivatives Clearing Limited (“SGX-DC”) is seeking public comments on proposed rule amendments catering to the introduction of new Central Counterparty (“CCP”) Clearing Services for Over-The-Counter (“OTC”) traded financial derivative contracts (“OTCF Contracts”). The proposed clearing service will offer benefits to market participants, particularly local and international financial institutions trading OTCF Contracts.

I concur with the staff recommendation to issue this order registering Cantor Clearinghouse, L.P. as a Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO) on the basis that Cantor has, subject to the terms and conditions specified in the order, demonstrated compliance with the requirements of the CEA and Commission regulations applicable to the registration of DCOs. I concur with the staff recommendation that Cantor Futures Exchange L.P. has satisfied the criteria in the Commodity Exchange Act for designation as a contract market. This approval is separate from Commission approval of any media related contracts that may be traded on the Cantor Futures Exchange.

CFTC Approves Cantor Futures Exchange, L.P. And Cantor Clearinghouse, L.P.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today approved the applications of Cantor Futures Exchange, L.P. for designation as a contract market and Cantor Clearinghouse, L.P. to be registered as a derivatives clearing organization. The Commodity Exchange Act requires the Commission to approve such applications if the applicant meets criteria enumerated in the Act.
