NZX Group Operational Report October 2010

Trading volumes moderated in October after a particularly strong September. Total value traded on the NZX Securities Markets decreased by 6% in October to $2.0 billion compared to September 2010. However, daily average value traded increased by 4% from $98 million to $102 million over the same period. Total value traded on the NZX Debt Market decreased versus October 2009 but increased by 28% from September 2010, largely due to heavy trading in ANZ bonds.

The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) announced today that total OCC volume reached 344,148,365 contracts in October. This represents a 4% increase over the October 2009 volume of 332,434,278 contracts. OCC year to date total volume is up 5% from 2009, coming in at 3,226,581,844 contracts.

October Was Second Busiest Month Ever At CBOE Futures Exchange - Trading Volume Rose 24% Over Previous Month, October Was Thirteenth Consecutive Month To Post Gain In Year-Over-Year Trading Activity

The CBOE Futures Exchange, LLC (CFE) today announced that October 2010 trading volume totaled 479,304 contracts, compared to 188,047 contracts during October 2009. October was the second-busiest month in CFE history, trailing only the 481,650 contracts traded during May 2010, and marked the thirteenth consecutive month in which total volume registered an increase when comparing year-over-year trading activity.
