Speech By SEC Commissioner Luis A. Aguilar: Combating The Lack Of Transparency In The Security-Based Swaps Market

Opening Statement Before The Open Meeting On The Fifth Series Of Proposed Rulemakings Under The Wall Street Reform And Consumer Protection Act - CFTC Commissioner Bart Chilton
Date 19/11/2010
If you were in the halls of the CFTC building this week, it may have seemed like a bee hive. Staff was rushing to meetings, lobbyists and interested groups of folks going from one room to another. Folks aren't having time for lunch, working early and late. There’s no doubt we’re in a "challenging" time. Statements for the record on each rule: Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on Protection of Cleared Swaps Customers before and after Commodity Broker Bankruptcies I support the advance notice of proposed rulemaking concerning protection of collateral of customers entering into cleared swaps.
