Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Friday, January 28, 2011: Cervus Equipment Corporation (TSXVN:CVL) will be removed from the index. The company will graduate to trade on the TSX under the same ticker symbol. The shares of Lysander Minerals Corporation (TSXVN:LYM) will trade under the new name EastCoal Inc. The new ticker symbol will be "ECX" and the new CUSIP number will be 276165 10 7.

BM&FBOVESPA Launches Reference Interest Rates For The Fixed-Income Market - The New 3 And 6 Month Indicators To Be Published aA Of February 1

BM&FBOVESPA will begin daily publication on February 1 of two new interest rate indicators that it seeks to make into reference rates for the fixed-income market. The 3-month Reference Interest Rate (TJ3) and the 6-month Reference Interest Rate (TJ6) will be calculated for these periods, based on the one-day Interbank Deposit Futures Contract ID1 traded on the Exchange.

SEC Charges Connecticut-Based Hedge Fund Manager For Fraudulent Misuse Of Investor Assets

The Securities and Exchange Commission today obtained a court order freezing the assets of a Stamford, Conn.-based investment adviser and its principal, Francisco Illarramendi, charging that they misappropriated at least $53 million in investor funds and used the money for self-dealing transactions.

Francois de Dietrich Sentenced To 18 Months Imprisonment For failure To Comply wWth Court Order And To Cooperate With FSA Investigation

The High Court in Northern Ireland has committed Francois de Dietrich to an 18 month prison sentence after he failed to comply with a court order obtained by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and statutory information requests from the FSA ordering him to give, amongst other information, details of where his assets were held.

SIX Exchange Regulation: Pelikan Holding Ltd Was Fined By Sanction Commission

In August 2009, SIX Exchange Regulation came to an agreement with Pelikan Holding Ltd regarding breaches of Swiss GAAP FER in its 2008 financial statements. While Pelikan Holding Ltd corrected these breaches in its 2009 financial statements, it did not disclose these as errors; as a result, it has been fined by the Sanction Commission.
