CalPERS Will Divest Of Stocks In Companies Doing Business In Iran, Sudan

Responding to the impact of federal and international sanctions, the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) today adopted a plan to divest shares of the remaining public companies operating in specific segments of the Iran and Sudan economies. New investments in these companies would be blocked as well.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced that it filed a complaint charging Angel Fernando Collazo of Salinas, Puerto Rico, and his company, ACJ Capital, Inc.(ACJ), with fraudulently soliciting at least $1.7 million from at least 18 individuals to trade off-exchange leveraged foreign currency (forex) contracts and issuing false statements to conceal trading losses.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) will convene a meeting of its Agricultural Advisory Committee (AAC) on Thursday, May 19, 2011, to obtain the views of agricultural futures market experts, national farm organizations, major commodity and agribusiness groups and the farm banking community. The major topics for discussion will be issues related to the Dodd-Frank Act, including position limits, hedge exemptions, the swap dealer definition, the end user exception and margin requirements for uncleared swaps. The AAC also will receive a presentation on recent activities in the major agricultural markets.

Hellenic Exchanges S.A. - Helex Q1 2011 Financial Results - EUR9.2m Net After Tax Profits

The consolidated net after tax profits of HELEX in the first quarter of 2011 amounted to EUR9.2m compared to EUR9.8m in the corresponding period last year, reduced by only 6%, despite a 37% drop in the trading activity.
