FIA Statement On Senate Confirmation Of Mark Wetjen As CFTC Commissioner

Late in the evening of Thursday, Oct. 20, the US Senate confirmed by voice vote the nomination of Mark Wetjen to be a Commissioner of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission for a term expiring June 19, 2016.  Once he is sworn into office, he will replace Michael Dunn, who has served as CFTC Commissioner since December 2004.  The Futures Industry Association issued the following statement in response to the confirmation.

HKFE Announces Margin Rates For Adjusted New World Development Futures Contracts

Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has announced that with effect from the commencement of trading on Monday, 24 October 2011, the minimum margins to be collected by an Exchange Participant from its clients in respect of their dealings in the following futures contracts will be as outlined in the table below.  The margins are based on the clearing company's normal procedures and standard margining methodology.

Burgundy To Offer Interoperable Clearing From May 2012

Burgundy is pleased to announce its plans to introduce interoperable Central Counterparty (CCP) clearing between EMCF and SIX x-clear in May 2012. The introduction is subject to regulatory approval by the regulators of Burgundy and the respective CCPs.
