Qatar Exchange Launches Initiative To Allow Investors To Receive Dividends Directly From Banks

Qatar Exchange today launched an ambitious initiative aiming at allowing investors to have their dividends directly deposited in their bank accounts.  The purpose of this initiative, which comes in line with the best international practices, is to help develop the Qatari financial market and protect investors' rights.

Mr. Ahmad Aweidah, Chief Executive Officer of the Palestine Exchange (PEX) announced the convening of PEX 5^th Annual Palestinian Capital Market Forum (www.pex.ps/forum) to be held in Ramallah city, Palestine on Monday 21 November 2011. BATS 1000 Index Up 1.4% This Week

BATS Global Markets, a global stock market operator, reports the BATS 1000^SM Index (Ticker: BATSK) advanced 190.24 points, or 1.4%, this week to close at 14,079.04 as of 4 p.m. ET today. The S&P 500 Index was up 1.1% on the week.

Senate Confirms Mark Wetjen As CFTC Commissioner

On Friday, Oct. 21, the Senate confirmed by unanimous consent the nomination of Mark Wetjen to be a Commissioner of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission for a term expiring June 19, 2016. Mr. Wetjen is currently an aide to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), a position he has held since 2004. Once he is sworn into office, he will replace Michael Dunn, who has served as CFTC Commissioner since December 2004.
