IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE), a leading operator of global regulated futures exchanges, clearing houses and over-the-counter (OTC) markets, today reported record open interest in ICE Brent Futures of 975,335 contracts on 21 October 2011. The new record surpassed the previous ICE Brent Futures open interest record of 968,565 contracts set on 24 January 2011.

FIA Statement On Senate Confirmation Of Mark Wetjen As CFTC Commissioner

Late in the evening of Thursday, Oct. 20, the US Senate confirmed by voice vote the nomination of Mark Wetjen to be a Commissioner of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission for a term expiring June 19, 2016. Once he is sworn into office, he will replace Michael Dunn, who has served as CFTC Commissioner since December 2004. The Futures Industry Association issued the following statement in response to the confirmation.

Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has announced that with effect from the commencement of trading on Monday, 24 October 2011, the minimum margins to be collected by an Exchange Participant from its clients in respect of their dealings in the following futures contracts will be as outlined in the table below. The margins are based on the clearing company's normal procedures and standard margining methodology.
