    BATS Global Markets, a global stock market operator, reports the BATS 1000SM Index (Ticker: BATSK) advanced 190.24 points, or 1.4%, this week to close at 14,079.04 as of 4 p.m. ET today. The S&P 500 Index was up 1.1% on the week.

  • Senate Confirms Mark Wetjen As CFTC Commissioner

    On Friday, Oct. 21, the Senate confirmed by unanimous consent the nomination of Mark Wetjen to be a Commissioner of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission for a term expiring June 19, 2016. Mr. Wetjen is currently an aide to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), a position he has held since 2004. Once he is sworn into office, he will replace Michael Dunn, who has served as CFTC Commissioner since December 2004.
