CFTC Charges Illinois Resident Christopher Varlesi With Commodity Pool Fraud, Misappropriation, False Statements, And Failure To Register - Defendant Charged With Fraudulent Solicitation Of Over $1 Million From At Least 18 Individuals - Federal Court Enters Emergency Order Freezing Varlesi’s Assets And Protecting Books And Records

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced that it filed a civil enforcement action against Christopher Varlesi of Chicago, Ill., individually and doing business as Gold Coast Futures and Forex (Gold Coast). The CFTC is charging Varlesi with fraudulently operating a commodity pool to trade commodity futures and off-exchange foreign currency (forex) contracts. The CFTC complaint also charges Varlesi with making false statements to pool participants, misappropriating pool funds, and failing to register as a commodity pool operator.

ISDA EMEA Determinations Committee: Restructuring Credit Event Has Occurred With Respect To The Hellenic Republic

The following replacement shall be made in BSE IPO Index:
Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd. (Code: 534091) shall be included in BSE IPO Index. As per the guidelines, a company that get listed on the Exchange after completion of IPO shall be considered eligible for inclusion in the index subject to minimum free-float market capitalization of Rs.100 crores on its first day of listing. -

European Parliament President Martin Schulz Welcomes Greek Debt Swap Deal

Following a debt swap agreement between Greece and private investors, European Parliament President Martin Schulz made the following statement:
"I welcome the agreement between Greece and investors on a voluntary bond swap. The agreement is a major step towards bringing Greek debt to sustainable levels and towards restoring stability in the euro zone. A successful bond swap agreement is a pre-condition for final approval of the second 130 billion euro aid package for Greece agreed last month.
