NASDAQ Announces Mid-Month Open Short Interest Positions In NASDAQ Stocks As Of Settlement Date August 15, 2012

At the end of the settlement date of August 15, 2012, short interest in 2,203 NASDAQ Global MarketSM securities totaled 7,226,611,409 shares compared with 7,315,848,792 shares in 2,206 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of July 31, 2012. The mid-August short interest represents 4.16 days average daily NASDAQ Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 4.65 days for the prior reporting period.

As you may know, the minister of finance commented on the budget request guideline for fiscal 2013, among other matters, at the cabinet meeting. This guideline was formalized at the cabinet meeting. In relation to that, the minister of internal affairs and communications and other ministers also made various comments. The compilation of the budget for the next year is about to start, with the deadline for budget requests set for September 7, so the Financial Services Agency (FSA) will work with other ministries and agencies.

UBS Says NASDAQ OMX's Facebook Compensation Plan Woefully Inadequate - Citadel Offers Support To NASDAQ

UBS Securities has estimated its Facebook IPO losses at USD356 million when Nasdaq technical failures led to a delay in order confirmations during Facebbok's May 18 IPO. NASDAQ's system failures caused UBS's systems to re-enter orders multiple times and leaving it with a huge position of unwanted stock.
