BOX Options Exchange Price Improvement Activity For February

In the month of February, price improved contracts on BOX Options Exchange (“BOX”) averaged 203,395 per day. Price improvement versus the prevailing NBBO for contracts submitted via BOX’s price improvement auction, PIP, averaged $194,620 per day, while total savings to investors this month was $3.7 MM. With this, BOX has saved investors over $420 MM since its inception in 2004. Overall average daily trading volume on BOX in the month of February was 365,201 contracts.

EEX Is Awarded Contract For The Permanent German Auction Platform

The European Energy Exchange (EEX) has won the tender for the permanent auctioning platform on behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany. This means that EEX – in cooperation with Eurex Exchange – will conduct auctions of general EU allowances (EUA) and EU aviation allowances (EUAA) for the next three years with the possibility of extension for a further two years. At present, EEX carries out these auctions as a transitional auction platform.
EEX: Second Flemish Auction Clears At 4.34 Euro

Today, the European Energy Exchange (EEX) carried out the second auction on behalf of the Flanders region. In the auction, 2 million EUA have been sold at a price of 4.34 Euro/EUA. The total bidding amount was 8,593,000 EUA which means that participants demanded more than 4-fold the determined volume.14 companies took part in the auction.
