EBA Announces Key Features Of The 2014 EU-Wide Stress Test

The European Banking Authority (EBA) announced today the key components of the forthcoming 2014 EU-wide stress test that will be conducted on a wide sample of EU banks. The objective of the EU-wide stress tests is to help supervisors assess the resilience of financial institutions in the European Union to adverse market developments. This exercise aims at ensuring consistency and comparability of the outcomes across all banks based on a common methodology, scenarios and accompanied by a consistent disclosure exercise.

EEX Introduces Fee Holiday For Guarantees Of Origin

The European Energy Exchange (EEX) is creating new incentives for trading in Guarantees of Origin (GoO). Trading participants will be exempt from trading fees (0.6 € Cents per GoO) for trading transactions concluded from February 2014. The new fee holiday is valid until the end of 2014.

State Street UK fined £22.9m By Financial Conduct Authority For Transitions Management Failings

State Street UK has been fined £22,885,000 by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). State Street UK’s Transitions Management (TM) business had developed and executed a deliberate strategy to charge clients substantial mark-ups on certain transitions, in addition to the agreed management fee or commission. These mark-ups had not been agreed by the clients and were concealed from them.

EPEX SPOT Inaugurates Office In Vienna - An Austrian Voice For Clients, Partners And Stakeholders

The European Power Exchange EPEX SPOT has opened its office in Vienna on 30 January 2014. Austrian market participants, partners and stakeholders participated in the inauguration. The office is based in the Mayerhofgasse at the centre of Vienna and is headed by Arnold Weiß.

Oslo Børs: Increase In The Proportion Of The Market Held By Foreign Investors, While Private Investors Remain At A Historic Low Level

The total number of shareholders fell last year to the lowest level since 2009, and the proportion of the market held by private investors remained at a historic low level. At the same time the proportion of the market held by foreign investors increased to the highest level since before the financial crisis, according to the most recent shareholder statistics from VPS.
