The Council:
- RECALLS its Conclusions of 9 December 2014 on Finance for Growth and the Long-term Financing of the European Economy in order to further build on the policy targets and principles contained therein;
- RECOGNISES that although EU capital markets have expanded over recent decades, they remain fragmented and less developed as compared to those in some other comparable jurisdictions, in particular in certain market segments crucial for jobs and growth such as securitisation and venture capital;

The situation of Greece is getting critical. The current economic assistance programme to Greece runs out in 11 days. Four months of negotiations have not led to the necessary compromise. The Eurogroup meeting yesterday did not manage to break the deadlock. The game of chicken needs to end, and so does the blame game. Because this is not a game and there is no time for any games. It is reality with real possible consequences, first and foremost for the Greek people.

CFTC: Federal Court Orders A $500,000 Civil Penalty Against Joseph F. Welsh III For Attempted Manipulation Of Palladium And Platinum Futures Contracts - Federal Court Order Also Imposes Trading Restriction

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that a federal court in New York, New York, entered a Consent Order against Defendant Joseph F. Welsh III of Northport, New York, resolving CFTC charges that Welsh attempted to manipulate the settlement prices of palladium and platinum futures contracts traded on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX).

Hong Kong's Securities And Futures Commission: Former Licensee Given Community Services And Cold Shoulder Order For False Trading

The Kowloon City Magistrates’ Court today sentenced Mr Wong Chun to a statutory maximum of 240 hours of community service and imposed a cold shoulder order against him for two years for false trading in the shares of Sino-Tech International Holdings Limited (Sino-Tech) (Notes 1 & 2).

Substitute purchases by Eesti Pank
On 2 June 2015 the Governing Council decided that, owing to the lack of government and agency bonds needed to accommodate the Estonian benchmark allocation under the PSPP, Eesti Pank could conduct substitute purchases via the acquisition of marketable debt instruments issued by the Estonian public non-financial corporate Elering AS.
