Japan Exchange Group (JPX) and Nasdaq have officially announced that JPX has gone live with their new next-generation derivatives trading system for the JPX subsidiary, Osaka Exchange. This is a milestone in the relationship between Nasdaq and JPX, who have been working together since 2011.

SIFMA Highlights Concerns With The Proposed Plan For Developing A CAT System

SIFMA today submitted a comment letter to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on the National Market System (NMS) Plan for developing a Consolidated Audit Trail (CAT).  The NMS Plan for the CAT was developed by a group of self-regulatory organizations (SROs) – the securities exchanges and FINRA – and the SROs submitted the NMS Plan to the SEC pursuant to Rule 613 under the SEC’s Regulation NMS.

It’s good to be back at the Atlantic Council. As was already mentioned, I was here three months ago speaking about how Europe is adapting to global developments. I set out the work we are taking forward to be able to deal with the unexpected. Since then, the unexpected has happened. For the first time, a Member State has voted to leave the European Union. That’s a challenge that goes to the heart of the European project. Getting the response right will be crucial for Europe’s future.

The International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Inc. (ISDA) today announced that its Americas Credit Derivatives Determinations Committee resolved that a failure to pay credit event occurred in respect of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

Canadian Securities Regulators Recognize Three Trade Repositories

Securities regulators in Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan (the approving jurisdictions) today announced the approval of recognition orders for three derivatives trade repositories: the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc., DTCC Data Repository (U.S.) LLC and ICE Trade Vault, LLC. Securities regulators in Newfoundland and Labrador, Nunavut, Northwest Territories, Prince Edward Island and Yukon expect to approve comparable recognition orders for some or all of these trade repositories before trade reporting requirements begin in their jurisdictions.
