Eris And R.J. O'Brien Institutional Brokerage Group Release Hedge Accounting Treatment Paper - Case Study Illustrates ERIS Swap Futures As An Effective Hedging Instrument

Eris Exchange (ERIS) and an institutional fixed income brokerage group at R.J O'Brien & Associates(RJO), the nation's oldest and largest independent futures brokerage and clearing firm, released anaccounting case study outlining how ERIS Interest Rate Swap Futures can receive favorable hedge accounting treatment. Qualifying for hedge accounting treatment allows institutional hedgers to confidently use ERIS Swap Futures as a replacement for OTC swaps. The study provides a concrete example of using ERIS as an eligible and effective hedge. Previously, ERIS had partnered with Reval to coauthor a white paper that lays out a framework for examining hedge accounting effectiveness of ERIS contracts.

HKEX Announces Temporary Holiday Risk Management Arrangements

All markets operated by the Hong Kong Futures Exchange will be closed for business on 10 October 2016. In order to assure that safeguards are in place against potential market risks that may arise during the aforesaid period when some of the major markets are open, the Clearing House has decided to make a mandatory intra-day variation adjustment call on Clearing Participants in the Hang Seng Index, Mini-Hang Seng Index, H-Shares Index, Mini H-Shares Index, HSCEI Dividend Point Index and USD/CNH Futures markets on Friday, 7 October 2016.

Boerse Stuttgart Generates Turnover Of Around EUR 6.3 Billion In September - Trading In Investment Products Exceeds Total For Previous Month

Based on the order book statistics, turnover at Boerse Stuttgart in September 2016 was around EUR 6.3 billion. The lion’s share of this total was attributable to securitised derivatives with a trading volume of around EUR 2.7 billion. Within this category, leverage products accounted for roughly EUR 1.2 billion of the total, while investment products contributed over EUR 1.5 billion – an increase of nearly 5 percent on the previous month.
