    Good morning and welcome.  The Investor Advisory Committee is a very important voice in informing the Commission’s work, and I am pleased to see new and returning members gathered here today or on the phone with another agenda of important issues to discuss.  I would like to extend a special welcome and congratulations to our newest members, Professor John Coates who is participating by telephone today, as well as Nancy LeaMond, and Elisse Walter, neither of whom could join us today because of commitments that pre-dated their appointment to the Committee.  John, Elisse and Nancy will all add tremendous value to the Committee’s work in the coming months.

  • LINE Corporation, Largest Tech Ipo Year-To-Date, Lists On The New York Stock Exchange

    LINE Corporation, a leading global platform for mobile messaging and communication services, content distribution and advertising, began trading today on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker symbol “LN,” after its initial public offering. LINE raised $1.1 billion in gross proceeds and is the third U.S. IPO to raise over $1 billion in proceeds, following US Foods (NYSE: USFD) and MGM Growth Properties (NYSE: MGP). GTS is the NYSE Designated Market Maker (DMM) for LINE’s shares.

  • CFTC Orders Atlantas Group, Inc. And Edmund Hysni To Pay In Total $7.2 Million In Restitution And A Civil Monetary Penalty For Solicitation Fraud And For Making False Statements To The National Futures Association - Order Also Permanently Bars Atlantas Group And Hysni From The Commodity Industry

    The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today issued an Order filing and simultaneously settling charges against Respondents Atlantas Group, Inc. (Atlantas) and Edmund Hysni for committing solicitation fraud in connection with options on futures contracts trading on the Chicago Board of Trade and the Commodity Exchange, Inc., and against Hysni for willfully making material false statements to the National Futures Association (NFA) in connection with its investigation of the fraud.

  • EEX: Dairy Futures Reach Half Year Record

    In the first half of 2016, EEX has reached a new record on the derivatives market for dairy products. From January to June 2016, 42,485 tonnes of commodity equivalent (which corresponds to 8,497 contracts) were traded in the EEX dairy futures, comprising 24,160 tonnes traded in Skimmed Milk Powder Futures, 18,275 tonnes traded in Butter Futures and 50 tonnes traded in Whey Powder Futures. As a result, the trading volume in these products was +454 percent above the trading volume in the first half of 2015 on EEX and Eurex. With this development, EEX has further strengthened its position as leading market place for dairy derivatives in Europe.

    Good morning. I join my fellow Commissioners in welcoming John Coates, Nancy LeaMond, and Elisse Walter as the newest members of the Investor Advisory Committee. Glad to have you here as well as the returning members who have been re-appointed. I look forward to working with all of you.
