HKEX: Changes Of Designated Securities For Short Selling

The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX), announces that with effect from 10 February 2017 (Friday), 58 additional securities will be eligible for short selling and 12 existing designated securities will be removed from the list. The total number of designated securities for short selling will be 925 after the revision.

The value of ASX-listed stocks, as measured by the All Ordinaries Index, fell 0.8% in January 2017. This performance was lower than most major markets, including Hong Kong up 6.2%, Singapore up 5.8%, the US up 0.8%, and Germany up 0.5%. Declines were observed in Japan, down 0.4% and the UK down 0.6%.

FINRA Expels Lawson Financial And Bars CEO Robert Lawson For Fraudulent Municipal Bond Sales - Lawson Misused Customer Funds And Breached Fiduciary Duties As A Co-Trustee Of A Customer Trust Account

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) announced today that it has expelled Phoenix-based Lawson Financial Corporation, Inc. (LFC) from FINRA membership, and has barred LFC’s CEO and President Robert Lawson from the securities industry for committing securities fraud when they sold millions of dollars of municipal revenue bonds to LFC customers.
