Office Of Financial Research Update - "The U.S. Bilateral Repo Market: Lessons From A New Survey"
The OFR released a brief today entitled, "The U.S. Bilateral Repo Market: Lessons from a New Survey," and an accompanying blog by Stacey Schreft, OFR Deputy Director for Research and Analysis. This brief provides aggregate statistics on U.S. dealers’ bilateral repurchase, or repo, agreements and economically equivalent securities lending activities. The data were collected from the U.S.-affiliated securities dealers of nine bank holding companies under a voluntary pilot program run by the OFR and the Federal Reserve System with input from the Securities and Exchange Commission.

EBA Publishes Revised Final Draft Technical Standards And Guidelines On Methodology And Disclosure For Global Systemically Important Institutions
The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today revised final draft technical standards and Guidelines on the further specification of the indicators of global systemic importance and their disclosure. The need for this revision was prompted by the new data template and some minor changes introduced by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) in January 2015 for the identification of global systemically important banks (G-SIBs). The full data template with the detailed specification of the indicator values will now only be incorporated in the EBA Guidelines and will be updated on an annual basis.

CFTC: Federal Court In Illinois Orders Approximately $500 Million In Sanctions Against Defendant Nikolai S. Battoo And His Three Companies For Committing A Global Commodity Futures And Options Fraud - Defendants Ordered To Pay Restitution And A Civil Monetary Penalty, Disgorge Profits, And Are Permanently Barred From All Commodity-Related Activities
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced that Judge Edmond E. Chang of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois entered an Order of Default Judgment against Defendants Nikolai S. Battoo, BC Capital Group S.A., BC Capital Group International Limited, and BC Capital Group Holdings S.A. (the BC Common Enterprise).

ETFs/ETPs Listed In The United States Gathered 239.8 Billion US Dollars In Net New Assets In 2015, According To ETFGI
ETFs/ETPs listed in the United States gathered US$239.8 billion in net new assets in 2015 although it is a large amount it is less than the record US$244.3 billion gathered in 2014. In December US$38.0 billion of net new assets were gathered making it the largest asset gathering month for the year and marking the 11th consecutive month of positive net inflows.
