Amman Stock Exchange: Ringing Bell For Gender Equality Stock Exchange Conference

On the Ninth of March 2017 Amman Stock Exchange(ASE), hosted the Third Annual Celebration of the Gender Equality Initiative in Jordan "2017 Ringing Bell for Gender Equality Stock Exchange Initiative" which was organized by the ASE in cooperation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), throughout ringing the bell for starting the trading session at the ASE coincide with the celebration of Women's International Day in the presence of the CEO of the ASE Mr. Nader Azar, Dr. Yahya alHusseini Corporate Governance Officer International Finance Corporation in Jordan (IFC), Mr. Ziad Al- Shaikh Representative , UN women, and and Ms. Oraib Qabbaj, Chief Operations Officer, Jordan Institute of Directors (JIOD), and a number of Business Women and the public figures interested in SSE Principles and Gender equality , and representatives of brokerage firms , Public Shareholding Companies and capital market institutions.

The total value of shares traded for the week ending 9 March 2017 amounted to SAR 18.01 billion, decreasing by 9.34% over the previous week; while total stock market capitalization reached SAR 1,624.94 billion at the end of this period, decreasing by 1.14% over the previous week.

Foreign Investors Buy 2.3 Billion Dirhams Of Shares In ADX In February - 148 Million Dirhams Net Foreign Investment In ADX In February

Foreign investors’ purchases in February 2017 reached 2.306 billion Dirhams, representing %44.8 of total trades, whereas their sales stood at 2.158 billion Dirhams, representing %41.9 of total trades. Subsequently, the net foreign investment in February reached 148 million Dirhams. Whereas institutional investments in February have reached 31.8 million Dirhams.

IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. To Join The NASDAQ-100 Index Beginning March 20, 2017

Nasdaq (Nasdaq:NDAQ) today announced that IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. (Nasdaq:IDXX), will become a component of the NASDAQ-100 Index® (Nasdaq:NDX), the NASDAQ-100 Equal Weighted Index (Nasdaq:NDXE) and the NASDAQ-100 Ex Technology Index (Nasdaq:NDXX) prior to market open on Monday, March 20, 2017. IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. will replace SBA Communications Corporation (Nasdaq:SBAC) which is being removed as a result of their conversion to a REIT.

CA Inc. To Pay $45 Million For Alleged False Claims On Government-Wide Information Technology Contract

(CA) has agreed to pay $45 million to resolve allegations under the False Claims Act that it made false statements and claims in the negotiation and administration of a General Services Administration (GSA) contract, the Department of Justice announced today. CA is an information technology management software and services company headquartered in New York, New York.

Volkswagen AG Pleads Guilty In Connection With Conspiracy To Cheat U.S. Emissions Tests

Volkswagen AG (VW) pleaded guilty in federal court in Detroit today to three felony counts charging: (1) conspiracy to defraud the United States, engage in wire fraud, and violate the Clean Air Act; (2) obstruction of justice; and (3) importation of merchandise by means of false statements. As part of the plea, VW agreed to pay a $2.8 billion penalty as a result of the company’s decade-long scheme to sell diesel vehicles containing software designed to cheat on U.S. emissions tests. In January 2017, VW had agreed to plead guilty to resolve these criminal charges.

ICAP Europe, Tullett Prebon And Lloyds Dismissed From Yen Libor Litigation In US

U.S. District Judge George Daniels in Manhattan dismissed Lloyds Banking Group, ICAP Europe and Tullett Prebon as defendants from litigation alleging a conspiracy among many financial services companies to manipulate the yen Libor and Euroyen Tibor benchmark interest rates. The judge said he lacked personal jurisdiction over the three British companies.
