ESAs Publish Draft Technical Standards To Strengthen Group-Wide Management Of Money Laundering And Terrorist Financing Risks

The Joint Committee of the three European Supervisory Authorities (EBA, EIOPA and ESMA - ESAs) published today its draft regulatory technical standards (RTS) specifying how credit and financial institutions should manage money laundering and terrorist financing (ML/TF) risks at group level where they have branches or majority-owned subsidiaries based in third countries whose laws do not permit the application of group-wide policies and procedures on anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT). These RTS are part of the ESAs' wider work on fostering a common approach to AML/CFT and will contribute to creating a level playing field across the European Union's financial sector. -

EBA Closes Breach Of Union Law Investigation Against DNB And Will Monitor Transitional Measures Adopted To Redress The Case

The Breach of Union Law Panel of the European Banking Authority (EBA) decided to close the breach of Union Law investigation (BUL) on Dutch supervisory regime governing proprietary traders it had opened against the Dutch Central Bank (DNB). The BUL panel's conclusion followed the decision taken by the DNB on 13 November 2017 to redress the breach of Union law by terminating the current national prudential framework for traders for own account. The DNB will notify the EBA on capital conservation plans adopted by the firms concerned and the EBA will monitor the application of these transitional measures.

Irish Stock Exchange: Mexican Global Building Materials Company, CEMEX, Lists On GEM

CEMEX, the Mexican global building materials company, lists additional notes valued at €650m on the Global Exchange Market (GEM) of the Irish Stock Exchange (ISE). The notes, with a 2.75% interest rate, have a maturity date of December 2024. CEMEX and some of its subsidiaries already have multiple bonds listing on the ISE.

Susan Swart To Stand Down As Chief Information Officer Of The International Monetary Fund

Susan Swart, the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Chief Information Officer and Director of its Information Technology Department (ITD), has decided to leave the Fund in early 2018 for personal reasons. Ms. Swart joined the IMF in June 2012, following a distinguished career at the U.S. State Department.

Vienna Stock Exchange: Correction - ATX & ATX Prime: New Free Float Factor For CA Immo, ATX Top Dividend To Include 15 Stocks

According to the index rules, the ATX committee reviewed the calculation parameters for Austrian indices today. For the real estate company CA Immobilien Anlagen AG the free float factor drops from 0.8 to 0.7 due to S Immo AG’s purchase of shareholdings. The free float factor represents the portion of a company’s shares that are in the hands of a multitude of public investors and tradable on the stock exchange. It also impacts the weighting of a stock in an index. The changes will become effective on 18 December 2017. The next orderly review of the ATX composition is scheduled for March 2018.

Moscow Exchange: New MICEX 10 Index Methodology To Take Effect

A new version of MICEX 10 Index Methodology to become effective on 11 December 2017. The document have been amended to synchronise the effective dates for index constituents and constituents of key stock market benchmarks (MOEX Russia Index and RTS index), i.e. after the end of the main trading session on the third Thursday in March, June September and December. Some editorial changes have been made throughout the text of the document as well.

ESMA Publishes Key Transparency Calculations For MiFID II/MiFIR Implementation

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) published today the MiFID II/MiFIR transitional transparency calculations (TTC) for equity and bond instruments. Today’s publication means that TTC for all asset classes, applicable from 3 January 2018, are now available to market participants, infrastructures and authorities as required under the new regulatory framework.
